Ananya "Rin" Insumran
Position: Vice President
For two years I helped develop the working relationships with Central Festival and Jungceylon for our Annual Business Fairs. Also I have helped develop our relationship with Phuja and Loch Palm for our monthly meetings, food and staff. I have helped organize our check in desk at the monthly meetings and I have worked with PSU to arrange student involvement in IBAP. I look forward to learning new ways to help IBAP including developing our relationship with the Phuket Governor's office and other government offices. I believe there is a very important service that IBAP can offer to Phuket, foreign and Thai businesses here, and the Thai people. I am proud to be a part of our team that is building these stong relationships.
James Firth
Position: Secretary
I have lived and worked in SE Asia for 10 years. I then relocated to Bangkok where I was based from 1999 until 2006 and in charge of a large network of export furniture factories throughout Thailand, China & Vietnam. I moved to Phuket in early 2007 and now am Managing Director of Beautiful World Furniture & Interiors, offering expertise from the furniture industry to many property developments on the island. I am married with 2 children and believe that I can be an asset to the Association's management team by bringing to the table knowledge, enthusiasm and dedication to the daily operational tasks required to take IBAP through the next phases of development as an association.
David Arell
Position: Trustee
I would be honored to be able to assist with the excellent work done by the officers and members of IBAP. I have been in business in Phuket for 8 years now and operate the Chem-Dry cleaning service here. I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve at a senior level in a different non-profit organization in Phuket and would like the chance to assist IBAP with what is planned to be a great year.
Valentine "Val" Guytonbeck
Position: Trustee
I would like to continue helping to formulate & implement IBAP policy. I will work to support & coordinate the various action teams which will lead to more benefits for members. I want to ensure that all members feel they have a secure support base within IBAP so members will want to give back by contributing to an improving business environment. Long term vision is for IBAP to become a truly international organization with groups operating wherever foreign & local businesses are working together.
Jean Leon
Position: Trustee
A native of Los Angeles, I lived in the neighborhoods of Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Malibu and Santa Monica. It could also be said that I grew up in my father’s restaurant, La Scala. As well as academic schooling, it was at the restaurant that I really received my business education. While at the restaurant I saw another business opportunity in the bakery business. In 1990 my brother-in-law and I opened Ca’d’Oro Bakery, a wholesale bread bakery that caters to restaurants, hotels and caterers. Though I am no longer involved in the day to day operation of the company, I still participate in any major decision concerning the company. I enjoy the idea of being able to contribute to the community where I am living and look forward to bringing my experiences to IBAP. I will be working with helping IBAP further develop the university student / business community relationship as well as other social contributing programs.
Gary Warton
Position: Trustee
After helping as a volunteer in last year's Business Fair I became a student sponsor at one of the monthly meetings. The pure fun of giving 4 lovely PSU students their first ever business cards got me hooked. As a board member I will be dedicating my energy to developing social programs for IBAP. I firmly believe that IBAP can serve another role to bring the various non government and social service groups together for networking and common goal activities.
